Starter Loc Consultation
Before we begin your starter loc journey, I require a consultation so we can get aligned on your vision and your hair’s history. This is our time to talk through your texture, lifestyle, any past damage or challenges, and what you hope to achieve with your locs. I’ll answer all your questions about the process, my techniques, and what to expect during and after installation. We’ll also go over booking policies, payment details, and how to care for your new locs once they’re in. It’s important to me that you feel informed, confident, and excited before we begin.
About Service
At your appointment, I’ll wash, condition, and fully detangle your hair—even if you’ve done it beforehand—to make sure your locs begin with a clean, healthy foundation. I only start locs using comb coils, and I do not offer or maintain sisterlocks, microlocs, or any method outside of palm rolling. Your ends will be trimmed as needed, and I’ll oil your scalp before you leave. If you plan to color your hair, please do so before your appointment or wait until your locs have begun to bud, which typically takes 3–5 months. My goal is to start your journey with intention, care, and the integrity your crown deserves.
after care
After your install, I’ll guide you on how to care for your new locs, but the basics start with a consistent oil and wash routine to build strong, healthy growth. I recommend using a durag instead of a bonnet during the starter phase to help preserve the coil structure and reduce frizz. Your formal maintenance schedule depends on your loc style: once a month or 1.5 months for manicured locs, every 2 months for semi-freeform, and every 3 months if you’re choosing a freeform journey. If you go more than four months without a maintenance appointment or communication about your self-care routine, I’ll require a New Client Consultation before rebooking. This helps me assess your progress and make sure we’re still aligned on the health of your crown.
how to book
To begin your journey, you’ll first need to book a Starter Loc Consultation so we can talk through your hair, goals, and prep before locking anything in. After our consultation, you’ll return to the Book Online page and select the Starter Locs section. From there, choose the option that applies to you—Full Head, Crown, or Kid Services—then select your hair length. The earliest available date for that specific service will appear, and you can choose the time that works best for you. A small deposit is required to secure your appointment, and you’ll receive an email confirmation with the remaining balance due at your visit. Before booking, please take a moment to read through the full service descriptions and my Policy Page to make sure everything is clear and you're fully prepared.

Please fully read Service description and Policy fully before booking. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out.
